We had a costume party at Stroller Strides this morning and here are the very poor pics I got of the boys! A mom came up and was asking about Stroller Strides when I was taking pics, so I snapped a few quick ones so I could talk to her.
Brighton was supposed to be dressed as Handy Manny, but would not put on the hat or tool belt - you can see his toolbox sitting on the stroller, though! So, without the hat & tool belt, he looks like he's dressed as a little boy.
Rigley was a frog. The costume actually fit over his casts. I didn't realize how bad this pic was, though, until this evening. While the costume does fit over the casts, it is a bit of an ordeal to put it on and I'm not putting him through it again just for a pic.
We were going to go to our church party this evening, but Mommy & Daddy are super tired and Brighton doesn't want to go or put on his costume. So, these poor pictures above are the high point of our day! :)

First casts
Rigley got his first set of casts on yesterday for his bi-lateral club feet. This is the first of probably 5 casts that he will get changed weekly. It is the Ponseti method of treatment - you can find more info about it by clicking here. They are doing it at University Children's Hospital in Columbia. He's doing much better this morning, he has actually started smiling again - which makes Mommy VERY happy to see!

Chuck E Cheese
Today was Brighton & Rigley's first trip to Chuck E. Cheese. We went there for playgroup. Brighton had a blast - we blew through all of our tokens. He won tickets on some of the games and had fun picking out his prizes. He got an activity book, a rubber frog, a clapper, a mini frisbee, and some stickers.

Zoom, Zoom!
October 18, 2008
Brighton was riding his Diego bike with Daddy outside and he told me to come watch him go "Zoom, zoom!" In the video, it is hard to hear him, but he says. "I'm going to go zoom, zoom. I go like this."

I was trying to catch Rigley "talking", but he won't do it when I get the camera. So, here he is smiling and you can hear Brighton talking in the background!

SDC with Mimi & Papa
October 16, 2008
We met Mimi & Papa at Silver Dollar City - along with the rest of the free world! Seriously, we have never been there when it had been that busy. Even in the middle of summer it wasn't as bad as it was on this Thursday in October.
We had a good time anyway. Brighton played in the balls, of course, and rode a few rides. Mimi & Papa's friends, Jerry & Etta, were with them, too and they enjoyed some of the music shows with Papa.

Apple Butter Makin' Days
We took the boys to Mt. Vernon on Saturday (10/11) to Apple Butter Makin' Days (isn't that just fun to say!). It's a fall festival where they make homemade apple butter and have hundreds of craft booths. It was a beautiful day and we really enjoyed just being out. However, when Brighton sees a picture of an apple now he says, "That's Apple Butter Makin' Days!" (There were banners all over town that had an apple and said Apple Butter Makin' Days.)
Playgroup goes to the Pumpkin Patch
October 10, 2008
Okay, so if you were expecting lots of great pictures of Brighton and his little playgroup friends at the pumpkin patch, I'm going to have to disappoint you. I forgot to take my camera! He had a good time, though. There was a bounce house that I think he would have stayed in all day if I would have let him. We went through the corn maze - it was quite a site, a bunch of moms pushing strollers through a corn field! We didn't actually make it to the pumpkin patch, though. To get to the pumpkins, you had to ride a hay wagon pulled by a tractor. Brighton was not interested in that, so we stayed behind and had a picnic while the other moms and kids went to the pumpkins. They very kindly brought a pumpkin back for Brighton, though. Here are Brighton and Rigley at home after the pumpkin patch outing.

I don't need my helmet!
Brighton is not too fond of his bike helmet and really doesn't like it if it's not his idea to put it on. We went outside to enjoy the lovely weather and ride his Diego bike, but that didn't happen. He ran around saying, "I don't need my helmet!"
He was much happier when we took his helmet off. No bike riding, but he had fun none the less.

Good smiles

Rigley turned 8 weeks on Sept. 21. I didn't get a pic, but here are some from the next day. He was all smiles and I was trying to catch it.
Brighton couldn't stand the thought of not getting his picture taken, too! All the time I was taking Rigley's picture, he kept saying, "Mommy, take my picture. Take my picture!"
